DJI has released numerous devices over the last year or so. Most recently, the company has launched the Neo 2 drone and Osmo Action 6 camera and Osmo Mobile 8 smartphone stabiliser globally (curr. $149 on Amazon). However, there are also some rumoured devices that never made it to market despite ample evidence that they were in an advanced stage of development.
For instance, DJI had created the RC Track to complement its Air 3S drone. While the FCC eventually revealed dozens of device photos and even a user manual, the RC Track disappeared without a trace. Now, its spiritual successor has arrived as part of DJI's T55, T70S and T100S agricultural drone releases in China.
As far as we can tell, DJI calls the accessory the 'RC Mini AG'. Equipped with 1.97-inch display, the RC Mini AG can be used instead of a large remote control to navigate a drone even in emergencies. According to DJI, this tiny display also outputs at 410 x 494 pixels while delivering up to 800 nits peak brightness.
From the video embedded below, the small remote controller has two joysticks for controlling a DJI drone in flight, with DJI adding that the accessory should last up to 3 hours between charges. Moreover, the remote control accessory supports OcuSync 4 technology, which boasts up to a 10 km video transmission range. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether DJI plans to offer the RC Mini AG internationally, let alone alongside a future consumer-grade drone.
