An insane DIY drone built by Ben Biggs has broken the unofficial world record for the fastest drone with a mind-boggling top speed of 603 km/h (375 mph), surpassing the previous record by 18 km/h (7 mph).

A new drone built by Ben Biggs at Drone Pro Hub has broken the unofficial record for the world's fastest drone with a top speed of 603.47 km/h (Mach 0.49), pushing the boundaries of speed and drone engineering.

Less than a month ago, a team of father and son engineers — Mike Bell and Luke Maximo Bell — showcased their quadcopter that hit speeds of 585 km/h (363.5 mph). Giving them no time to celebrate, the team at Drone Pro Hub have broken the record with a similar drone design in a development Luke calls "interesting".

For now, the engineers have not shared much information on the technical aspect of the drone, but it has a peak power draw of about 16 kW, which is close to the 16.2 kW of the Peregreen 3 built by Mike Bell and his son. At full throttle, the drone has a motor speed of about 28,000 RPM.

In terms of endurance, the drone has about 2 minutes of battery life, which is the same as the Peregreen 3. According to Drone Pro Hub, the project — from the design phase to the latest working prototype — cost over $30,000.
