Over six months have passed since rumours about DJI developing an Avata 3 drone emerged online. At the time, various leakers speculated about the existence of the Neo 2 and Mini 5 Pro, both of which DJI has now launched in one capacity or another. Based on recent leaks, the Neo 2 could be set for a global release later this month, too.
To recap, alleged Avata 3 prototypes have surfaced since May. Collated by The New Camera, they all show an unusual-looking drone that departs from the Avata 2 that arrived in April 2024 (curr. $1,199 on Amazon). While DJI matured its Avata design with the Avata 2, the drone pictured below has a much flatter design. Apparently, that may be because DJI's next Avata release will not be a third-generation model in the strictest sense.
Instead, Igor Bogdanov now reports to have received confirmation that the drone will launch as the Avata 360, not the Avata 3. Based on Bogdanov's recent tweet and the pictures below, it seems that DJI plans to directly target the Antigravity A1, Insta360's first drone that it previewed earlier this year before a January 2026 launch. Currently, The New Camera expects the Avata 360 to start for around $1,099; the website has not shared any evidence to verify this claim, though.
