The launch of the DJI Neo 2 is almost upon us. In the meantime, several leakers have revealed global pricing, images and more before the drone's official arrival.

We still await official confirmation that DJI will be releasing its next Neo drone globally before the end of the month. To recap, there were suggestions that the Neo 2 would join the Osmo Mobile 8 and Mic 3 Pro in being launched next month. However, DJI has now started selling the Osmo Mobile 8 in China.

Likewise, the company's Chinese subsidiary has indicated that the Neo 2 will land before the end of the month, too. Specifically, DJI China shared a teaser associated with the date October 30. From the propeller and propeller guard shown, it looks like the Neo 2 shares the same overall form factor as the original DJI Neo (curr. $199 on Amazon).

Igor Bogdanov has emphasised as much in a new set of leaks. The pictures provided highlight that the Neo 2 surpasses its predecessor in several areas, though. For one, the Neo 2 features a superior gimbal, which Bogdanov claims supports 2-axis stabilisation. Moreover, DJI has added front-facing omnidirectional sensors, which sandwich the drone's rumoured 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor.

Meanwhile, the rear of the drone contains what appears to be a removable module of some kind. According to The New Camera, the Neo 2 also supports DJI's OcuSync 4 technology. As a result, we suspect that DJI has developed an OcuSync module of some kind that will debut first on the Neo 2.

On top of that, The New Camera reports that DJI is moving the Neo platform from 4K/30 FPS to 4K/60 FPS with support for 10-bit HDR and D-Log M. Apparently, the new 1/1.3-inch CMOS camera delivers 13.5 EV stops of dynamic range, too, unlike the original Neo. Currently, the same website asserts that the Neo 2 will start at $229 with the following bundle options:

  • Fly Solo Bundle: $229 (Neo 2 drone/1x battery)
  • Creator Combo Bundle: $299 (Neo 2 drone/2x battery/RC-N3 controller)
  • FPV Starter Bundle: $399: (Neo 2 drone/3x battery/Motion 3 controller/Goggles N3 adapter)
  • Fly More Kit Bundle: $449: (Neo 2 drone/3x battery/Motion 3 controller/Goggles N3 adapter/case/charging hub/additional propellers)
