The Z105 is another budget-friendly drone with obstacle avoidance and a controller that sports a built-in screen. The quadcopter is available with either one or two batteries and in two different color options.

The selection of wallet-friendly drones is growing, even though these often have limited features and specs compared to higher end counterparts like the DJI Mini 4K. So the Z105 from ZHRC is now available at Banggood for $60 plus shipping and potential import fees. That price includes the drone itself and one battery. Delivery may take several weeks and warranty claims are likely hard to enforce.
Remote with display included in the box
The highlight is arguably the included remote, which features an integrated 4.3-inch display that shows the images recorded by the drone. However, the range of this feature is limited as the remote has a range of up to 150 meters (492 ft) and can show a video feed for just 12 minutes. Therefore, the Z105 is probably a suitable drone for beginners or kids who want to gain some hands-on experience with this kind of device or finally find out how the abandoned house behind the big tree looks.
Short battery life and low resolution
That being said, the drone itself also offers a flight time of around 12 minutes per full charge. It can apparently detect obstacles and circle around certain objects or a house in order to take videos or pictures. Even though the camera is mounted on a gimbal, it should be noted that video is recorded at a very low 480p resolution.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology. I worked for Tom’s Hardware and ComputerBase, among others, and have been working for Notebookcheck since 2017. My current focus is particularly on mini PCs and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi – so in other words, compact systems with a lot of potential. In addition, I have a soft spot for all kinds of wearables, especially smartwatches. My main profession is as a laboratory engineer, which is why neither scientific contexts nor the interpretation of complex measurements are foreign to me.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
