Even though the successors to the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold won't hit the market until August, numerous images and technical details about Google’s upcoming smartphone generation have already been leaked. In fact, a pretty comprehensive first leak about the Tensor G5 and Tensor G6 already surfaced back in 2024. More recently, the design of the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL has been prematurely revealed as well.
This information was not of official, but now it looks like a first detail about the Tensor G5 chipset might have been officially confirmed, although this information should still be taken with a grain of salt. According to Android Authority, the GPU supplier Imagination shared an article on Weibo, which included the table shown below, at least according to the tipster who provided the screenshot. This table lists some already released chips with Imagination GPUs, but also two brand-new SoCs.
The first one might be a new Xiaomi SoC called XuanJie, which will apparently use an Imagination DXT-72-2304 GPU. The other is the Google Tensor G5, which apparently sports the DXT-48-1536, which is a GPU that has already been mentioned in other Tensor G5 leaks. It will supposedly be clocked at 1,100MHz in the Pixel 10. The aforementioned article has been updated and no longer contains this table, so apart from the embedded screenshot, there’s no proof that this detail has been officially confirmed.
