Moon Studios has been hard at work refining and expanding No Rest for the Wicked, and their latest devlog brings some major updates. After launching with a series of patches and hotfixes, the studio released its first major content expansion—the Crucible update—before going silent for a time. Now, they’ve broken that silence, revealing a pivotal moment in the game's development: the decision to buy back publishing rights from Private Division, making No Rest for the Wicked a fully independent project.

With that transition behind them, Moon Studios is set to launch The Breach—their most ambitious update yet—on April 30th. This massive expansion introduces new areas that double the game’s world size, fresh enemy types, and additional weapon archetypes, including gauntlets and wands, which introduce dynamic attacks like drop-kicks and explosive spells. The update also enhances existing biomes, injecting new content into familiar locations.

Replayability is getting a major boost with an infection-cleansing mechanic that escalates enemy difficulty and culminates in intense boss battles. In return, players will earn powerful new loot, including Masterwork items and expanded enchantments that deepen character customization. Housing, storage, and fast travel have also been improved for better quality of life.

On top of all this, The Breach introduces a hardcore permadeath mode, revamped consumable mechanics, and over 11,000 total performance improvements. With a fresh soundtrack from Ori and the Blind Forest composer Gareth Coker, this update sets the stage for even bigger things—including co-op play, which is now a top priority for the team.

Moon Studios assures fans they have plenty more in store, with The Breach marking just the beginning of their long-term plans for No Rest for the Wicked.
