Google has just unveiled the Pixel 9a ahead of its full launch next month. However, leaker Kamila Wojciechowska continues to look ahead to the Pixel 10 series, which is reportedly due in around six months' time.
According to the leaker, all Pixel 10 flagships are still on track to launch with Google's Tensor G5 chipset. To recap, the Tensor G4 inside the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro (curr. $849 on Amazon) and Pixel 9a, made incremental progress over the Tensor G3. By contrast, the Tensor G5 is expected to step out of Samsung's shadow, with Google shifting to fully in-house chipset development instead.
As we have discussed previously, Google is said to have turned to TSMC and its 3 nm nodes for the Tensor G5, which Wojciechowska claims will underpin ARM Cortex CPU cores and an Imagination Technologies (IMG) DXT GPU. Additionally, Tensor G5 is said to represent a shift to an in-house image signal processor (ISP), which should help improve efficiency when processing photos and videos. According to Wojciechowska, the Tensor G5 will differ from the Tensor G4 in the following areas:
