The Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q5P is part of the new wave of 500Hz QD-OLED gaming monitors announced this year. This model was unveiled back at CES and is the only one, alongside the MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 and AOC Agon Pro AG276QKD2, to include UHBR20-capable DisplayPort 2.1 ports. Following its earlier rollout in the Eurozone, the Aorus FO27Q5P has now made its way to the UK.
Buyers can purchase the Aorus FO27Q5P in the UK for £838.99 (~$1,120) through Amazon and Overclockers UK. Interestingly, it's priced higher than the AOC Agon Pro AG276QKD2 (curr: £678.95 at Overclockers UK), despite having the same QD-OLED 500Hz panel and DisplayPort 2.1.
Gigabyte Aorus FO27Q5P key features
As we previously reported, the Aorus FO27Q5P features a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with a 1440p resolution and a 500Hz refresh rate. It can reach up to 1,000 nits of brightness in HDR, which is a bit lower than the Gigabyte MO27Q28G with the new Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, but it is still bright enough to deliver a true HDR experience. Plus, the Aorus FO27Q5P is DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified and covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space.
However, the main reason to go with this model over cheaper 500Hz OLEDs like the MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 is its UHBR20 support. Thanks to its DisplayPort 2.1 ports, the Aorus FO27Q5P can hit its maximum 500Hz refresh rate at 1440p without requiring DSC. It is also ClearMR 21000-certified and includes a built-in KVM switch and a USB-C port for added convenience in office setups.
Currently, the Aorus FO27Q5P is available in the UK and Europe, but Gigabyte has yet to confirm US availability.
