BenQ has entered the 500Hz OLED monitor race with the new MOBIUZ EX271QZ QD-OLED gaming monitor. Announced alongside two 4K 240Hz models, the EX271QZ features a 27-inch QD-OLED display with a 1440p resolution and up to 1,000 nits brightness. It appears to use the same panel as the MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 (curr: $749.99 at Best Buy) and Samsung Odyssey G60SF (curr: $999.99 at Amazon), which have already been released.
According to BenQ, the EX271QZ covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and comes factory-calibrated to DeltaE < 2 for accurate colors out of the box. It also introduces Color Shuttle, a database of more than 120 profiles designed to match the art styles of popular AAA games. For reference, most gaming monitors offer a few gaming color modes like FPS or RPG, so the Color Shuttle profiles here should result in more accurate color reproduction across different games.
For gaming, the EX271QZ pairs its 500Hz refresh rate with a 0.03ms response time, which should result in the silky-smooth gameplay and excellent motion clarity most competitive gamers demand. It also supports FreeSync Premium Pro VRR, along with handy in-game enhancements like crosshairs and advanced blur reduction. That said, the monitor does not support DisplayPort 2.1. Instead, it relies on DisplayPort 1.4, which uses Display Stream Compression to hit the maximum 500Hz at 1440p, similar to the MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 and Samsung Odyssey G60SF.
In terms of pricing, the EX271QZ lands between the Odyssey G60SF and the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 at $899. It remains to be seen whether BenQ’s tailored color profiles and extras like the built-in KVM switch will be worth spending more over MSI’s offering. The new BenQ 500Hz OLED will be available for buyers in the US in February 2026.
