Many of the projects expected to appear at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 are listed on its schedule. However, Pure Xbox noticed that one timeslot has a far vaguer description. For September 27th, the Famitsu/Dengeki Online portion of the show includes an hour-long broadcast devoted to an unnamed Xbox game. Fans are now speculating that Forza Horizon 6 is the mysterious title.
Microsoft will host its own event on September 25th at 6AM EST/12PM CEST. It’s likely that the company will unveil any new Xbox games at this point in the Tokyo Game Show. Then, in the following days, along with games from other publishers, titles will receive more comprehensive coverage.
It’s not certain that Forza Horizon 6 will be the title featured on September 27th. Still, Forza Horizon 5 arrived in 2021, and going by the history of the franchise, a sequel is overdue. Also, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer already confirmed that a new Forza racing game will debut in 2026.
Adding fuel to the speculation are rumors of a Forza Horizon 6 location in Japan. An Australian auto importer leaked photos of a Forza developer scanning a rare Japanese kei car. Windows Central then revealed that it had seen documents discussing an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show. Obviously, the setting would be ideal to introduce Japan and the world to a new open-world racer.
Fable and Halo games also lurk
Another exciting possibility is news on the highly anticipated Fable 4. Playground Games, which is responsible for Forza Horizon, is also working on the action RPG. Even so, there haven’t been many recent signs of progress since the February announcement of a delay until 2026.
There are also several Halo games reportedly in the works, with a Halo: Combat Evolved remake among them. Any announced title could celebrate the 25th anniversary of the shooter series next year.
