Most Forza racing games appear in fourth quarters, but that may not be the case with the latest installment. Courtesy of Xbox Era, the Xbox Infinite social media account shared a revealing pop-up image spotted in Forza Horizon 5. The leak points to a mid-May Forza Horizon 6 release date for early access customers.
At the January 22nd Xbox Developer Direct, gamers expect to hear news on Forza Horizon 6 and Fable reboot. It’s also anticipated that Microsoft will confirm a launch date for its latest open-world racing title. If the screenshot is correct, four-day early access starts on May 15th. Other drivers would have to wait until May 19th for the checkered flag.
The image also hints at how many cars will be available when the title debuts. Along with a pre-order bonus of the Ferrari J50, players can collect over 550 other vehicles. The previous installment offered a similar number of options from the get-go, but expanded to over 900 with DLC.
Not surprisingly, Forza Horizon 6 cars should include a healthy selection of Japanese creations. Yet the pre-purchase info already mentions an Italian Passion Car Pack arriving in the future. The Premium Edition unlocks access to a pair of upcoming expansions, likely with more drivable content.
How big will Forza Horizon 6 be?
Set in “breathtaking landscapes of Japan”, Playground Games has provided details on the environments. Landscapes should be diverse, featuring Tokyo's city streets and countryside tracks. Instead of rendering the entire country at scale, players will see specific locations, like Mount Fuji, represented realistically.
As a timed PC and Xbox exclusive game, PlayStation fans need to exercise patience. Despite the success of the previous racing game on the rival console, the Forza Horizon 6 release date for the PS5 will come at a later time. However, at the Xbox Developer Direct, it’s rumored that Microsoft could announce a multi-platform Fable reboot launch.
