Forza Horizon 5 was first released in November 2021 for Xbox and Windows, where it quickly became one of the most popular titles in the franchise. A few years later, in April 2025, the game made its debut on the PlayStation 5, and recent sales estimates suggest that the PS5 version has performed extremely well.
According to Rhys Elliott, Head of Market Analysis at Alinea Analytics, Forza Horizon 5 has now crossed 5 million copies sold on PS5. This is a very impressive achievement, especially considering the game was already several years old when it arrived on Sony’s platform.
This success did not come out of nowhere. Back in July last year, Alinea Analytics had already reported that Forza Horizon 5 was the top-selling new PS5 game of 2025. That early performance hinted at strong demand from PlayStation players, and the latest numbers confirm that momentum has continued.
Elliott also revealed that the PS5 version has helped the game generate around $300 million in revenue. That is a significant figure for a port of a four-year-old game, and it shows how well the title has translated to a new audience. A sequel for the game is also currently in development and is scheduled to release in 2026 for Windows and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also planned to launch on PS5. However, there is no confirmed release date or release window yet.
