Detroit: Become Human sold nearly one million copies on Steam during the recent holiday period, showing that the game still has strong demand years after its release. The surge in sales happened during Steam’s Winter Sale, which ran from December 18 to January 5. During this event, the game received a 90% discount, dropping its price from $39.99 to just $3.99 for the first time.
According to figures shared by Alinea Analytics, the game sold around 993,000 copies on Steam during the Winter Sale window. That is a massive number for a title that is over seven years old.
Because of the low price, total revenue for this period was fairly modest. However, these sales helped the game exceed seven million copies sold on the platform, and its total Steam revenue has now crossed $150 million. On top of that, the game also reached a new all-time peak player count on Steam just two days ago.
For those who have not experienced it yet, Detroit: Become Human is a story-driven adventure game developed by Quantic Dream. The game focuses heavily on player choice, with every decision shaping the story, the characters, and the final outcome. There are multiple endings, and small choices can have long-term consequences, giving the game high replay value. At the moment, it has over 45,000 reviews on Steam, and 94% of them are positive.
