Developed by Hutlihut Games and published by Focus Entertainment, Void Crew is a 1-6 player co-op space sim which also incorporates roguelite elements. Players assume the role of a crew of a spaceship that ventures forth into the void to fight a mysterious foe known only as the Hollow. Players will need to scavenge derelict wrecks, face chaotic dangers, and engage in intense boss battles as part of their journey.

Gamers will also need to assume specific roles and prioritize tasks aboard the ship if they want to make it out of the void, where survival is dependent on teamwork. Tasks players need to complete include piloting the ship, manning the turrets, performing emergency repairs, and recharging the power cells, but players will need to leave the safety of the ship to do so for scavenging or hull repairs. 

Take on enemies, either representing the Hollow or roaming bands of space pirates, the game offers a flexible style of play, where players can choose how to complete their missions, either with friends or solo. The “on-the-go installable ship systems” will allow them to easily shape their strategies and game style. Players will also be able to customize their characters with new cosmetics, multiple upgrades, or more gadgets for their ship. Playing multiplayer also has its own advantages, apart from the obvious: more manpower. The game is also designed for multiplayer, adding a layer of tension and difficulty while emphasizing coordination. 

Players can expect a deep customization and upgrade system not only for themselves but for their ship as well, but should be prepared for all sorts of issues, both foreign and domestic. Various events can cause issues aboard the ship, ranging from power and oxygen failures to ice shards and meteor storms. Quick and decisive decision-making will be the difference between success and failure. 

Void Crew was met with praise upon release, with fans and critics citing the FPS coop playstyle set in a ‘Faster than Light’ world. It is currently rated Very Positive, with over 6000 positive reviews on Steam, where it can be purchased at a 30% discount for $17.49, till the 22nd of January.
