SZDiier has another vertical retro gaming handheld in the starting blocks. While the D008 follows on from the D-007 Plus, it does so under a new brand for SDZiiER called Diium.

The D008 is one of three gaming handhelds that SZDiiER has introduced in China. For reference, the others are the D-28S and D50 Plus, which it is selling under its new Diium brand. Please see our corresponding D-28S and D50 Plus articles for more details about SZDiiER's other new gaming handheld options.

As for the D008, it closely resembles popular alternatives like Anbernic's RG35XX line or the Miyoo Mini Plus (curr. $63.99 on Amazon). Accordingly, it has a 3.5-inch display that outputs at 640 x 480 pixels but only a 2,500 mAh battery powering proceedings. Moreover, SZDiiER mentions that the device utilises a 32-bit and ARM Cortex-A7-derived chipset, albeit without providing the chipset's name in question.

As such, the D008 may be about as powerful as the Miyoo Mini Plus, which has proven capable of emulating many Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1 and even some Nintendo DS games. On top of that, SZDiiER provides 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, up to 256 GB of MicroSD card expansion and the usual array of gamepad buttons. Currently, the D008 starts at CNY 160 (~$23) in black, white or purple colour options. It remains to be seen when SZDiier will offer the device outside China though, nor through which ODMs.
