The D50 Plus is the largest of three gaming handhelds that SZDiiER has brought out in China under its new Diium branding. For context, the others are the D-28S and D008, launch details for which we have covered separately. While those pair are vertical gaming handhelds, the D50 Plus has a horizontal layout and a much larger 5.5-inch display.
Incidentally, the D50 Plus looks a fair bit like the GPD XP Plus or Anbernic's older RG552 (curr. $158.99 on Amazon). Arguably, SZDiiER has lifted the device's design from the Pimax Portal, as RetroHandhelds suggests. The D50 Plus appears to lack removable controllers, though, and is unlikely to utilise the same AMD Ryzen 7 6800U chipset as the Pimax Portal.
Although SZDiiER has not confirmed the chipset that powers the D50 Plus, its CNY 425 (~$59) launch pricing implies that a budget option underpins the device. Accordingly, the D50 Plus has a 720p display, as well as a pair of MicroSD card slots. Furthermore, the device is capable of running Android or Linux distributions. On top of that, it may offer external video output through one of its USB Type-C ports. A global release date remains unknown for now though, as do quite a few hardware specifications.
