The BatleXP Flip is a clamshell handheld aimed at playing retro games up to and including titles from the Nintendo 64 and Sony PlayStation Portable catalogues. Available for under $75 in a choice of two colours, the BatleXP Flip is a dead-ringer for an Anbernic handheld, just like the BatleXP G350 before it.

Earlier this year, BatleXP entered the retro gaming handheld scene with the G350, a 3.5-inch vertical device built around the enduring Rockchip RK3326. As it later transpired, the G350 shares almost all of its hardware with the Anbernic RG35XX Pro. However, the RG35XX Pro features Wi-Fi connectivity that the G350 lacks.

Now, BatleXP has started selling a new retro gaming handheld that it is offering as the BatleXP Flip. As Retro Gaming with Deadfred shows in the video below, the BatleXP Flip is even closer in execution to an Anbernic handheld than the G350 was. This time, BatleXP has borrowed from the RG34XX SP, which debuted in May.

According to the YouTuber, the BatleXP Flip contains exactly the same hardware and even the same Linux distribution as its Anbernic counterpart. To that end, the new device's Amazon listing mentions hardware like an Allwinner H700 chipset, 2 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and a 3,300 mAh battery. The BatleXP features a 3.4-inch and 720 x 480-pixel IPS display with a thick forehead too. Currently, the BatleXP Flip can be picked up on Amazon for $79.99 in a choice of Black and Indigo colour options.
