Game Console has pushed out another 3.5-inch gaming handheld based around Rockchip's trusty RK3326 chipset. This time, the white label manufacturer has turned to the Anbernic RG40XX V for inspiration and its off-centre single joystick. Rather than leaving empty space, Game Console has included Select, Start and Function buttons in place of where a second joystick could have been positioned.
Meanwhile, the sole joystick seems more recessed than the equivalent on the RG40XX V. On top of that, the R36VX has a smaller battery rated for 3,000 mAh. Conversely, the R36VX matches the RG40XX V with a 640 x 480-pixel panel that corresponds with a 4:3 aspect ratio. Likewise, the former features 1 GB of RAM, a small single speaker and two sets of in-line shoulder buttons.
Additionally, two USB ports flank a bottom-mounted 3.5 mm jack. Currently, the R36VX can be picked up on several marketplaces. At the time of writing, Amazon appears to be the cheapest with a $45 list price for a black, purple, blue or white models paired with a 64 GB microSD card. Alternatively, the handheld can be optioned with a 128 GB microSD card for a few dollars more.
