Affordable Acer tablets debut with up to 16-inch OLED display and portable monitor functionality

At IFA 2026, Acer has introduced a handful of new products, and the Iconia tablets are among them. These are expected to be affordable, and while they do not pack beefy specs, they seem to be a good pick for those who might be looking for a tablet for entertainment and lightweight productivity workloads.
Among the four, the Iconia X16 and X14 come with OLED displays. The former has a 16-inch display, while the latter sports a 14-inch panel. Regardless of the size difference, the resolution is the same, 1920x1200 pixels, meaning the smaller one will be more pixel-dense.
The smaller Iconia X14 is also brighter, coming with a brightness rating of 400 nits, and it also has a wider color coverage, with Acer claiming a 100% DCI-P3 coverage. As for the larger X16, its brightness rating stands at 400 nits, while the panel is rated for 95% DCI-P3 coverage.
As for the other two tablets, the Iconia A16 and A14, they feature IPS screens, and it seems that all the displays of these four pads have a standard 60Hz refresh rate. Besides the screens, all the other specs remain the same for all four models.
They are all powered by the MediaTek Helio G80, an entry-level SoC from 2019, and this dated chipset is paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. This choice of processor and memory suggests that the pads, including the larger OLED tablet, will be affordable.
While the SoC isn’t ideal for heavy tasks, it’s good enough for day-to-day tasks and entertainment. Acer has also integrated two USB-C ports, and the second Type-C port is solely for video input (3.3-feet Silkland USB-C monitor cable curr. $12.59 on Amazon). This means the tablets can serve as portable displays, making them a good choice for those looking to stay productive on the go.
Other highlights include an 8,000mAh battery, dual-band WiFi 5, an 8MP rear camera, and a microSD slot with support for up to a 2TB memory card. Acer says that the new Iconia tablets are set to be available in Q4 2026.
