Xiaomi reveals new iPad Pro rival with 13.3-inch display and flagship Xring O3

Xiaomi has recently detailed its new flagship SoC, the Xring O3, and the first devices that will feature the chipset are the 18 Fold and Pad 9 Pro Max. Just after showcasing the design of the former, the brand has now unveiled the new Android tablet.

The new teaser photos showcase the Pad 9 Pro Max in an elegant red colorway and confirm that Xiaomi's new iPad Pro rival will see a change in terms of the rear design. Compared to the tablets in the last-gen Pad 8 series, the new flagship Android tablet has a minimal camera island on the back.

This island is shown to house a single camera and a flash module, and it has an Xring logo on the side. The front-facing photos show that the tablet will feature uniform, relatively thin bezels, with the selfie camera flush on one of the side bezels.

In one of the promo pictures, Xiaomi has showcased the tablet with a stylus and keyboard accessories, emphasizing that the tablet is designed with productivity in mind. The company has also confirmed that it will feature a 13.3-inch display, but there's no explicit mention of the screen type.

Looking back, the top-end option in the Pad 8 series features an IPS display, and the new Xiaomi tablet wouldn't be very attractive if it didn't sport an OLED display. Of course, it's not like the Pad 9 Pro Max is expected to see a wide launch, as it will be powered by the Xring O3 SoC after all. To fill you in, Xiaomi's last-gen Xring-powered devices stayed China-exclusive (16/512GB Xiaomi 15S Pro with Xring O1 curr. $779.29 on TradingShenzhen).

Nonetheless, while Xiaomi didn't share any further specs of the tablet, it's expected to have a large battery and 120W fast charging support. The launch is set for September 07, 2026, in China, and the company could reveal more about the Pad 9 Pro Max before that.
