Flowtica Verso combines compact e-paper display with 72h battery life and AI features
After Flowtica had already introduced an AI ballpoint pen with a built-in voice recorder, the manufacturer is now unveiling a new AI gadget that, with its small e-paper display, is more reminiscent of a mini e-reader. In fact, however, the device is not intended for reading e-books, but primarily for taking notes.
To this end, Flowtica has equipped the device with four microphones that can record conversations and meetings, transcribe them, and summarize them using artificial intelligence. The gadget can be magnetically attached via MagSafe or Qi2 to compatible smartphones such as an Apple iPhone 17 ($802 on Amazon), and is designed to automatically start recording when a call comes in. A dedicated button allows users to manually record voice notes at any time.
The built-in AI assistant is designed to understand the content of conversations, automatically create a to-do list, and link to relevant past meetings. When no meetings are being recorded, Flowtica Verso can also be attached to a lanyard and serve, for example, as a digital name tag.
Although the gadget uses an e-paper display, not an e-ink display, the LCD without a backlight is designed to consume very little power, enabling a battery life of up to 72 hours. It charges via USB-C. Memos are saved to 64 GB of internal storage and can be transferred to a smartphone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
The AI features are processed on a server, so an active internet connection is required. Flowtica has not yet confirmed whether this will require a paid subscription, and details regarding the price and launch date are also still pending. Further details can be found on the Flowtica website.
