Although eagerly awaited by fans of the franchise, the Resident Evil 5 remake will not be released now, according to a leak. But fortunately, a good news has been revealed about another remake.
It is an announcement that makes a lot of noise among fans of the license. Indeed, Resident Evil 5 would not have received the green light from Capcom to be developed, according to Dusk Golem. If this information is true, the Japanese company may currently be discussing this project and considering various ideas, but the development of this game is still not authorized.
As a result, gamers will have to wait several more months to enjoy the remake they've been waiting for. But, in the meantime, good news has been revealed concerning another game, which is none other than the remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica.
On this subject, Dusk Golem makes the following point:
"Code Veronica Remake has been in development since 2022, around 3 years of dev now. Code Veronica Remake is ahead of schedule due to a very smooth dev cycle though."
In other words, its development is going well. And while Dusk Gamer had previously announced that it would be released in 2027 or 2028, it could see the light of day sooner.
But while waiting for these remakes, fans can look forward to Resident Evil Requiem, which will be released on February 27, 2026 on PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S. And it could have some nice surprises in store for gamers, notably by integrating a third-person view in addition to the first-person view.
