Resident Evil Requiem is eagerly awaited by fans of the franchise, especially for its story that promises to be terrifying. But a surprise could concern some people who own a PS4 or a Nintendo Switch 2, according to an insider.
The user @AestheticGamer1 revealed this information on X, stating that he had spoken with five people who confirmed the release of Resident Evil Requiem on PS4 and Nintendo Switch 2. And there's no doubt that this would allow Capcom to reach a wider audience with a highly anticipated game.
But, if this information is accurate, we can expect some compromises. The Nintendo Switch 2 and the PS4 are less powerful than the PS5 and the Xbox Series, and graphics may be significantly affected. Not to mention that ray tracing may not be available and the game may not exceed 30 FPS on these consoles.
Of course, in the absence of a statement from Capcom, this information should be treated with caution. And if Resident Evil Requiem were to be released on these supports, the studio will communicate about it in the coming weeks.
As a reminder, this game will be released on February 27, 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, and it will offer various features, such as first-person view and third-person view. In addition, the player will embody Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst, who is investigating a hotel where her mother died eight years earlier. And secrets about Raccoon City could be revealed.
