Capcom showcased new footage for its upcoming IP Pragmata at the Tokyo Game Show 2025. The game is being developed and published in-house by Capcom, centering on the dynamic between Hugh and Diana as players explore abandoned space outposts overrun by robots.
The gameplay trailer showcased a mix of cinematics and hands-on gameplay featuring the game’s lunar station environment. It also focused on a new location known as the Central Shelter, where the protagonist, Hugh, can unlock and upgrade an array of weapons and Hack Nodes to fight against robots.
Furthermore, the trailer expanded upon the game’s weapon arsenal by featuring two new weapons to fend off enemies. The Charge Piercer is a high-impact tool to breach enemy defenses, while the Decoy Generator can be deployed to distract and eliminate tougher enemies.
Complementing the weapon arsenal is the introduction of Hack Nodes, which consist of the new Multi-Hack, a consumable that allows Diana to compromise multiple enemy defenses with a single use.
Outside of combat, the trailer showcased a few exploration sequences, where Hugh and Diana board a Tram system to travel from the Central Shelter to unlocked Escape Hatches, which serve as both fast-travel points and checkpoints in Pragmata.
The announcement was also complemented by a confirmed 2026 release window for Pragmata across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam, building anticipation for what Capcom calls a “story-driven space adventure” with dual single-player mechanics similar to The Last of Us.
To further add to the excitement surrounding Pragmata, Capcom revealed that attendees at TGS 2025 would be able to try out a playable demo of Pragmata.
Pragmata was initially teased in 2020, after which the game went radio silent until Capcom announced a follow-up trailer in June 2025. Furthermore, Capcom also discussed Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 and 4 as 2025 comes to an end. In addition, the company also gave us new glimpses into its upcoming title, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and more Resident Evil Requiem gameplay.
The gaming community didn’t expect Pragmata to drop any time soon, but it’s a welcome addition to the growing roster of games coming next year, like Dragon Quest VII: Reimagined, Mewgenics, Resident Evil Requiem, 007: First Light, Grand Theft Auto VI, and more.
