Confirms an old rumor
We know about the ThinkPad X100e, but this is news to us. shifty Asian of the Wwhirpool.net.au forum reports a number of Lenovo ThinkPad Mini 10's at a school in Australia. Apparently unlike the only official netbook of ThinkPad i.e. the X100e, the Mini 10 has a very thick bezel in around the monitor area, and got a Mini 10 logo where the ThinkPad model number is supposed to be. It has Chiclet keys and the usual trackpad and trackball. It should have WLAN capabilities and apparently looks like a cheap version of the usually impressive Thikpad design.
As the discussion moves along, things started to unwrap. Another user reports that he was aware of it and it is powered by an Atom. Also this is the new model being distributed among New South Wales public schools.
We reported back in December about two such rumored systems filed at FCC by Lenovo. They were called Mini 10 and Mini 11, and this news confirms that the ThinkPad Minis must be real and kicking at some parts of the world.
