AMD Ryzen 11,000-series Zen 6 desktop CPUs tipped to launch in 2027

An earlier roadmap from AMD stated its next generation of Zen 6 desktop CPUs would launch sometime in 2026. Given that Zen 5 desktop launched in 2025—and that AMD launches new CPUs every two years—the timeline made sense. However, a new report from Benchlife suggests we might have to wait a bit longer. Apparently, Zen 6 won’t launch until 2027.
On the laptop side, the Zen 6-based Medusa Point was scheduled to arrive in 2027, and there’s a good chance it gets delayed as well. That said, we will still get a glimpse of Zen 6 in AMD’s Epyc ‘Venice’ chips due to launch sometime in 2026. No reason has been cited for the delay, but it could be due to limited TSMC N2 capacity for Zen 6 CPU cores and prohibitively high memory/storage costs for DIY PC builders.
Noted leaker HXL, who recently stated the top-spec Ryzen 11,000 Zen 6 CPU would launch with 24 cores, says even Intel’s Nova Lake lineup has been pushed back to 2027. Essentially, the rumoured Arrow Lake refresh will be the only Intel desktop CPUs launching this year. Looking at AMD’s track record, we might see an odd AM5 or even AM4 CPU show up out of the blue in 2026.
