With an Intel processor and a card reader, Blackview's AceBook 8 is now available in a new configuration. It sports USB Type-C, but won't be suitable for demanding workloads.

The Blackview AceBook 8 is not new, but it is now available via Geekbuying in a new configuration for €489. US-based buyers can find the laptop at the brand’s official online store for $585. This version is powered by the Intel N150 instead of the Intel N97. Overall performance remains fairly limited, so this laptop is better suited for basic tasks like office work and web browsing. We have already tested the Intel N150 in the Ninkear Mbox 11 mini PC.

This is a 15-inch laptop with an IPS panel and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The screen-to-body ratio is listed as 84%, while the SSD has 512GB of capacity and comes with Windows 11 Home preinstalled. With 16GB DDR4 RAM, the amount of memory is fairly reasonable for an office notebook. Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 are supported, for example to connect a wireless headset. The Blackview AceBook 8 has two speakers and two separate microphones, which are supposed to provide some noise reduction. The 1MP front camera has a low resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Monitors can be connected via HDMI 2.0 or USB Type-C, the latter can handle video output in addition to data transfers. The dimensions are listed as 14.1 x 9.2 x 0.75 inches, and the wallet-friendly 15-inch laptop weighs 3.5 lb. There are two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD card reader. Lastly, the battery is relatively small at 38Wh.
