Zotac has officially launched its new Solid Core series of graphics cards, featuring Nvidia Blackwell series GPUs. The lineup includes four models: the RTX 5080 Solid Core OC, RTX 5080 Solid Core, RTX 5070 Ti Solid Core OC, and RTX 5070 Ti Solid Core.
What sets these graphics cards apart is their relatively slim cooling system. While the standard Solid series models have IceStorm 3.0 coolers occupying 3.5 expansion slots, the Solid Core models have reduced cooling systems occupying only 2.5 slots. This is a notable feature because most high-end graphics cards require three or more expansion slots. The slimmer design makes these cards well suited for a wide range of PC builds where space may be limited. Zotac confirms that the Solid Core series includes a vapor chamber, LED indicators to show proper cable connection to the 12V-2×6 power connector, and all the features available in the original Solid models.
The RTX 5080 Solid Core OC features 10,752 CUDA cores and a factory-overclocked GPU clock of 2,640 MHz, while its standard model operates at 2,617 MHz. Both variants are equipped with 16GB of GDDR7 memory running at 30 Gbps on a 256-bit memory bus. These models have a power consumption rating of 360W and require an 850W power supply.
The RTX 5070 Ti Solid Core models contain 8,960 CUDA cores, with the OC variant running at 2,482 MHz compared to the standard model's 2,452 MHz. These cards also include 16GB of GDDR7 memory operating at 28 Gbps. The RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards have a lower power consumption of 300W and recommend a 750W power supply.
All RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti models from the Solid Core series share several common specifications. Each model is equipped with a 12V-2×6 power connector, a PCI Express 5.0 x16 interface, three DisplayPort 2.1b ports, and one HDMI port. All models have identical physical dimensions: 303.5 mm × 115.8 mm × 55.7 mm (11.9" × 4.6" × 2.2").
For users who require an even more compact solution, Zotac is also offering the RTX 5070 Solid model with a height of only two expansion slots.
Availability of the Solid Core graphics cards remains an open question. It is likely that, like other GeForce RTX 50 models, these new products will be in short supply.
