In our review, the Vivo iQOO 15 impresses with its powerful features. The mid-range Android phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, manufactured using TSMC's modern N3P process (3nm), promising top-tier performance.
The gaming-oriented Android phone utilizes the new, in-house developed Q3 gaming chip. This chip specifically supports the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 during gaming, improving graphics performance and efficiency.
According to Vivo, the Q3 chipset enables a new real-time ray tracing algorithm, resulting in more realistic lighting and shading. Furthermore, the co-processor handles image interpolation tasks and enhances textures and details.
Affordable Android phone for gaming reaches 144 fps
We took a look at PUBG Mobile to see how many frames per second the iQOO 15 can manage and whether it is really suitable for HFR gaming. There is no question that a smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 can display the battle royale game smoothly and without any noticeable issues.
We used the GameBench app to determine the exact frame rates for the iQOO 15. At low and medium detail settings, we reached up to 144 fps with a stable frame rate. Especially in HD mode, HFG gaming is rather an exception, particularly in the mid-range price segment. In UltraHD mode, image interpolation has no effect, and the iQOO 15 achieves the usual 40 fps.
