The Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar 9 has been launched as part of the brand’s 2024 home theater range. The soundbar has been designed to work alongside Sony BRAVIA TVs, like the new BRAVIA 9, connecting via HDMI eARC. Also known as HT-A9000, the model contains 13 speakers, including pairs of up-firing and side-firing drivers, two beam tweeters and four woofers.
The Bravia Theater Bar 9 uses these speakers to deliver a surround sound experience with 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, creating phantom speakers around the room. The soundbar has an automatic calibration tool, Sound Field Optimization, and support for formats like Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and IMAX Enhanced. You can use the BRAVIA Connect app to adjust the speaker’s settings and wireless stream music via Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth 5.2. Plus, you can boost the sound by connecting optional wireless speakers like the SA-SW3 subwoofer or SA-RS5 rear speakers.
The product is relatively compact at 1,300 x 64 x 113 mm (~51.2 x 2.5 x 4.4 inches) and has a fabric grille. Customers in European countries like the Netherlands, Germany and the UK can now pre-order the Sony BRAVIA Theater Bar 9 for €1,399.00/£1,399.00, with deliveries expected from June 10th. The device will retail for $1,399.99/CA$1,899.99 in the US and Canada, though the launch date remains unknown.
