The Galaxy Z Fold7 has not started shipping to consumers yet. Nonetheless, Samsung's latest foldable is already in the hands of reviewers and influencers. Ultimately, many have only provided surface-level analysis of this year's Galaxy Z Fold (curr. $1,999 on Amazon). The same goes for the Magic V5 too, which is not yet available globally.
In the meantime, Fenibook has uncovered some notable discrepancies in the dimensions of Honor's latest foldable, having drawn unfavourable comparisons with the Oppo Find N5 and Vivo X200 Ultra earlier this month. Almost simultaneously, Ice Universe has delivered similar evidence in separate posts.
As the embedded tweets below show, both have demonstrated that the Galaxy Z Fold7 is thinner than the Magic V5 and Find N5, despite official measurements suggesting otherwise. It is worth stressing that both X accounts used the Ivory White version of the Magic V5 for their tests, which is thinner and lighter than the device's other launch colours. By contrast, neither Oppo nor Samsung pull the same trick with the Find N5 or Galaxy Z Fold7.
Allegedly, even the Ivory White version of the Magic V5 comes in at 8.95 mm thick rather than the 8.8 mm that Honor officially states. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold7 has been shown to measure 8.79 mm, 0.01 mm thinner than Samsung's official claims. Please see the embedded tweets for more information. We will endeavour to update this article if an official explanation is provided.
