Aluminum office. Dell's Inspiron 14-7437 is an aluminum ultrabook with a touchscreen as well as Windows 8 and reminds us of a MacBook. How does it perform in our review?

A real price-cutter. Acer asks for a mere 250 Euros (~$345) for their Aspire E1-532. The computer's highlights are a Celeron Haswell processor and a matte display. A Windows operating system, however, isn't part of the package. Is it possible to get a decent notebook for such a low price?

A giant from China. With a panel diagonal of 5.7-inches ZTE follows the trend of ever bigger smartphones. A strong SoC, a camera with a 13 MP sensor and LTE support will make the device a hit - and all of this for a low price. Find out what the downsides are in our test review.

Pulled all the punches? Only 10 millimeters thick, yet a Windows tablet with the usual speedy performance? Sony believes demanding users can work more productively than ever with a Windows tablet today without sacrificing comfort or mobility. Is it the tablet highlight of the year?

8-inch versatility. The Dell Venue 8 Pro is an 8-inch tablet based on Intel's current-generation Atom processor. Does the pint-sized Windows 8.1 tablet, which comes with MS Office free of charge, really enhance productivity and is it a worthwhile investment?

Sharp new laptop. Toshiba's M50-A series aims at the large consumer market, choosing the right internals ranging from a high-performance Haswell-generation ULV CPU to a dedicated graphics card for gamers. That our test device still doesn't manage to reach one of the top spots when compared to its similarly specced competitors is mostly due to the chassis as well as the display.

Firefox for the phone. In 2004, Mozilla revolutionized the Internet world with its Firefox browser. Now the non-profit organization launches a mobile operating system on the market dubbed Firefox OS. One of the first cell phones featuring this OS is the affordable Alcatel One Touch Fire that we put through its paces. Is another revolution now coming our way?

Showing true colors. Gaming laptops not only stand out through enormous power; they also want to win over the hearts of gamers with a daring design. Gigabyte also follows this path with its P25W, and creates a gaming machine with a bright yellow surface along with a metallic wrist rest. Does courage plus power add up to perfection?

Duo. Asus offers the fourth generation of its tablet-smartphone combination with the New Padfone. There has been enough time to improve every aspect of the concept and get rid of initial problems, but was the manufacturer successful?

It's a ThinkPad – will it do the thinking for you? At first glance, Lenovo's new L440 from the ThinkPad line looks well-built and seems rigid as expected. Find out in our test report whether the laptop can live up to this first impression, and whether it can compete on the market in terms of performance.

Slimmed down. Lenovo puts a new model on the market for the mid-range segment. The 7-inch tablet is in the same weight class as the Google Nexus 7 2013 or the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7. Readers will see in the following sections how well the test subject holds its own against each first-class tablet.

A Dynamo of a Dock. The Dynadock port replicator provides six USB ports and HDMI-out for most Windows notebooks with a USB port. We test the connections to see if transfer rates and video quality remain unscathed.

Pixel-packed performer. Last year’s Yoga 13 was one of the most popular Ultrabooks yet, and for good reason: while it wasn’t perfect, it was smartly-designed, with a unique (and sturdy) build and good performance for its price point. One year later, can Lenovo’s successor carry the torch?

Still going strong. There is a host of SandForce-powered SSDs on the market, which is not surprising as the SF-2xxx series controller has proven itself as a reliable and solid performer. The difference between the various drives from different manufacturers can primarily be found in the firmware and version of the included NAND Flash modules. How does A-Data’s SP900 measure up to the rest?

Price-performance champion. HP renews its smallest tablet with the Slate 7 Plus. Inside we find an Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC and a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The equipment is standard but in return, prices for the Slate 7 Plus start at 149 Euros (~$205). Will it reach the winner's podium?

The Business Touch. The well-received 12.5-inch Latitude gets a touchscreen update and an even brighter display. We take the U.S. model for a quick benchmarking round in this updated review.

Windows for your handbag. Is there a small, 8-inch tablet complete with Windows 8.1, a solid IPS panel and a full version of Microsoft Office 2013 Home & Students for 300 Euros (~$410), you ask? Yes! The Lenovo Miix 2 fulfills all these wishes and then some. We tested it extensively to see what it can do.

More power for the office. Nexoc offers a simple office notebook that is based on Clevo's W550SU barebone. The user can configure it individually, but choosing a quad-core CPU, a hybrid hard drive and an SSD quickly results in more than 1,000 Euros - a fair price for this level of performance?

A step forward? Gigabyte belongs more to the unknown mobile end device suppliers in some countries. Too bad actually, considering that the Taiwanese manufacturer has a few very exciting laptops in its product line. For example, the U24T is seen as a compact multimedia all-rounder.

I'm sexy and I know it. The Dell XPS 15 is a multimedia powerhouse with premium-level features. The most recent version of the notebook series, which has been around for quite a few generations, not only brings changes to the design, but also updates to the internal components.

Quiet, frugal, cool. You have to pay around 450 Euros (~$617) for the 17.3-inch notebook with a Kabini quad-core processor. Our in-depth review shows if you get a good device in return.

Average. The Vaio comes with all components that a versatile laptop should have in form of a Core i7 processor, GeForce GPU, Blu-ray burner, and a 1 TB hard drive. Our test report reveals whether Sony has placed a recommendable 15.5-inch all-rounder in its product line.

An asocial office playboy. Dell presents the successor of its Vostro 3460 as an affordable office notebook in a snazzy aluminum body. The dedicated graphics also make the test version interesting for gaming with friends. So much is clear from the beginning: The balancing act succeeds, with only its mobility and endowment of ports failing to convince.

Power boost. Lenovo has enhanced the graphics performance of its successful IdeaPad Y510p. The device is now available with either a GeForce GT 750M (SLI) or a GeForce GT 755M (SLI). We grabbed the brand new dual-GPU version and compared its performance with genuine high-end models.

Evolution. Acer refreshed its stylish 13.3-inch Aspire S7. Besides a Haswell Core i7 and a WQHD display, the ultrabook also gets a larger battery. Our review shows whether the Aspire S7-392 can beat its predecessor and if it can even ascend to the throne.

Buzzing companion. Until now, processors from the Haswell generation were only rarely found in 15-inch business laptops. Toshiba rocks the market with its Tecra A50 - and wants to eliminate the precursor's problems at the same time.

Single character. Our bright red test sample of the 10-inch tablet HP Slate 10 HD 3500eg is a special edition that will not be available in Europe. Since it is identical with the normal silver-colored version in every other respect, we put it through our practical test.

Cheap. A 3.5-inch screen, 4 GB memory and a dual-core CPU - this small entry-level smartphone from Acer is neither a performance nor connectivity powerhouse, but it does offer a full-blown Android phone for less than 100 Euros (~$137). A wolf in sheep's clothing. Gaming notebooks do not necessarily have to be big, bulky and heavy. Razer shows that you can also put a lot of performance into a thin case.

Small device, giant resolution. The new version of the little iPad now has a Retina display, but it is also thicker than its predecessor. Apple also bestowed their 64-bit A7 processor on the little tyke, so it is on equal footing with its big brother. Or is it…?

New ground. HP is the first manufacturer to equip its media-focused flagship with Leap Motion capability and a touchscreen, but is this worth the extra cost of 60 Euros (~$82)? Additionally, the internals of the laptop have been refreshed, including a Full HD touchscreen, an Nvidia GT 750M GPU and an i7-4702MQ CPU.

Update Craze. Samsung has been bringing "updated" devices to the market as often as possible. The new Galaxy Note 10.1 from 2012 is now succeeded by the "Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition". The hardware is the latest on the market but can it, and the software, secure the top spot in the market?

Pioneer. The 12.5-inch ThinkPad of the X series has been completely revamped - while still staying true to the core strengths of its well-made predecessors. Mobility, flexibility, ergonomics and great build quality are characteristics which are not cherished among business customers alone. Our detailed review will show where the ThinkPad X240 fares better than those before it.

Thwarted gamer. An affordable notebook (699 Euros; ~$950) for computer gamers is what MSI offers with the GP60-i740M245FD. A Core i7 processor and a GeForce GPU, topped off with a matte Full HD display, create a lot of power under the bonnet. Our test review reveals if the computer is convincing in the field.

Ultraslim - the AMD way. Samsung's rather expensive ATIV Book 9 Plus was released some time ago and has been called the "most beautiful Ultrabook" by some. The ATIV Book 9 Lite uses AMD components and is offered at a more palatable price point. What the new notebook has to offer is the subject of our review.

Frugal quad-core. The HP Pavilion 15-050sg is an inexpensive notebook (399 Euros, ~$545) with a quad-core processor and a large hard drive. Thanks to the ULV APU from AMD it should be frugal and offer long battery runtimes. Is the Pavilion 15 a convincing package? Find out in our in-depth review.

Clipped wings. A Windows Convertible for 1700 Euros (~$2328) must have some highlights to offer. However, docking was a sobering experience for us, although the Z10t is basically a well-balanced bundle.

Slim all-rounder. It's a slim 15.6-inch all-rounder including a touchscreen that Hewlett Packard has with its Pavilion TouchSmart 15. A Core i7 and GeForce core provide enough computing power. Owing to the ULV CPU, the laptop should also offer long battery runtimes. Our test report reveals whether the laptop sticks out from the crowd.

4 x Atom. Bay Trail-T is supposed to eradicate the performance disadvantages of its predecessors. It wants to do this with a CPU Turbo and now four cores, but is that enough for the right balance of battery runtimes and reasonable Windows performance? Too incomplete. "Perfect for business professionals!" This is Toshiba's slogan for its new Windows 8 tablet, which we get to test. Our test version is 105 and comes without a stylus or dock. However, if these accessories are missing, the WT310 does not feel like a business tablet, despite the decent performance and all the advantages of a genuine x64 platform. We recommend adding them to your cart.

DreamBook? HP has changed the name of its mobile workstations to ZBook, shipping it not only with a different moniker, but also with a completely new chassis and updated components. Our detailed review will show whether this is enough to climb back to the top of our workstation ranking.

While efforts continue to try and rework the Chromebook equation to provide a more enticing balance of performance and build quality, Acer sees no harm in sticking to the original plan, with a budget plastic case design, an understated appearance, and an x86 chipset—all for $249. Vostro's successor. Dell introduces a new line of laptops with the Latitude 3000 series. We have our hands on the 15.6-inch Latitude 3540. A Haswell ULV processor alongside a matte Full HD screen are to attract both private and professional users. Our test report reveals whether Dell's latest product line is compelling.

A lot of notebook for the money. Core i7 processor (Haswell) and a GeForce GPU in a 17.3-inch case suggest a powerful system. Lenovo wants around 720 Euros (~$972) for this package, but Windows is not included. Does Lenovo offer an interesting device for the desk?

Love is in the air. The fifth generation of Apple's big seller is now available for purchase. Finally, the California-based company unveils a thinner device -- and at a height of a mere 7.5 mm (~0.3 inches), it has certainly earned the name "Air". The new A7 processor, familiar from the iPhone 5s, is at work in the newest iPad as well -- and it even clocks at a higher frequency than in its pocket-sized sibling. How did the iPad Air fare in our test laboratory? Read on to find out...

Hot smartphone. Samsung is offering the Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275R for less than 260 Euros (~$352) but this is no cheap piece. In fact, we are surprised by the high quality of the 4-inch smartphone which even offers an LTE module.

Regicide? The sales figures of the Surface RT were sobering, and a tablet revolution certainly looks different. But Microsoft did not stop its Windows RT project and now offers a successor. Is it enough to beat the self-declared rival from California? Find out in our in-depth review.

A bit late. Toshiba's ultrabook with touchscreen had been promised for the second quarter of 2013, but a test product only just reached us. An i5-3337U of the Ivy Bridge generation should ensure enough processing power and is supported by 8 GB of RAM. It's certainly a strong package of performance, but can the machine contend with Intel's newer competition based on Haswell?

Cautious evolution. Microsoft's second iteration of the Surface Pro aims at eradicating its predecessor's biggest flaws while at the same time staying true to its original concept. We have done some extensive testing to find out whether this powerful tablet PC with its high-resolution display does now indeed come closer to the idea of a perfect working device.

Silent companion. Haswell makes it possible: HP offers a fan-less 13.3-inch notebook with the Spectre 13 x2, which transforms into a tablet with a push of a button. However, the bulky detachable is certainly no bargain with a retail price of almost 1,100 Euros (~$1485).

Low performance, high price. A really good office laptop is available for 650 Euros (~$878), just like the ATIV Tab with a keyboard dock. Can this concept of an ultra-mobile work and Internet station succeed at this price?

Old packaging, new content. Lenovo wants to attract users looking for the highest possible performance for as little money as possible with the new IdeaPad Z510 series . The Z510 comes with a Haswell CPU, a GeForce GPU and a matte Full HD display for about 700 Euros (~$944). Our review reveals whether the IdeaPad is only convincing on paper or also in practice.

Big brother. Step one: Take HTC's successful One smartphone and blow it up to a gigantic 5.9-inches with Full HD resolution. Step two: Add a swift Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core with an integrated Adreno 320 graphics card. Step three: Blend in 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a big 3300 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner. HTC's new One Max is complete. Is this recipe enough for a podium placement in the phablet category?

Kicking it. The innovative IdeaTab Yoga Tablet 10 comes with an integrated kickstand which allows switching between what Lenovo calls stand, hold, and tilt mode. Is this standout feature enough to differentiate the tablet with its middle-of-the-road hardware and average feature set from the competition?

In the shadow of the competition. Almost parallel to Battlefield 4's release, Activision sends the newest edition of their Call of Duty series to the market. With its modern graphics the action game wants to seize its genre's throne. Our article deals primarily with the title's hardware demands. Affordability and style. No one will accuse HP’s latest Chromebook of neglecting its appearance; as far as plastic devices go, it’s an attractive contender. But at just $279, is it even possible to supply the parts necessary for adequate performance?

A niche tablet. In a more and more saturated market, tablets with telephone capability always count as niche products. The Chinese manufacturer Huawei wants to change that. Telephone tablet. The name says it all: On the outside, the Asus Fonepad 7 is an Android-based 7-inch tablet, but its inner parts contain a full-blown telephone module. As our review shows, the mid-class device's performance makes a good name for it too.

Dell's premium consumers are no longer equipped with just Haswell processors and potent graphics. Performance? Anyone can do that. Instead, the Texans are upgrading their optics, materials, and all-around workmanship. A successful combination of upscale packaging and lightning-fast innards?

Ultra recommendable? Now that more and more laptops feature touchscreens, Nexoc does not want to fall behind and sends a slim ultrabook based on a Haswell ULV CPU with a touch-sensitive screen dubbed B401 Ultra into the race. Little stylus giant. Fonepad goes smartphone. Everyone is making their smartphones bigger. Asus shrinks its Fonepad and turns its 7-inch tablet with telephone function into an ultramodern, 6-inch phablet with Full HD based on Intel's platform. Its contender is Samsung's Galaxy Note 2. It's 1:0 for Asus in terms of price.

A flexible solution. The Flex 14 is essentially a low-cost alternative to the well-known Yoga series. Starting at just $479, it certainly has the looks and design of a notebook at twice the value. Looks aren't everything of course, and we find out in this review just how well the Flex 14 can perform.

Covers all the bases. The LifeBook E-series is to convince well-heeled business users with its great casing as well as numerous security features and interfaces. Our review sample belongs to the lower-priced models from the series and is appealing with a balanced mix of components.

Thank you Haswell. Intel's latest processor generation is finally available in Apple's Retina MacBooks and results in significantly improved battery runtimes. Our in-depth review determines the performance of the new components.

Unrivaled. A cheap business entry level laptop in a 13-inch format and the latest ULV processor, the Intel Core i5-4200U, from HP. This slim model weighs a mere 1.6 kg and wants to be recognized as a serious mobile companion.

Long-lasting all-rounder. An economic Core i7 processor and a dedicated Nvidia GPU topped with a lot of storage and wrapped up in an elegant aluminum casing - this is the recipe for a versatile and high-performance multimedia laptop. But is it enough to justify the ambitious price of almost 1200 Euros (~$1619)?

Colorful Mix. The MSI gaming collection is dominated by 17-inch models and includes a handful of 14 and 15-inch models to round off the offering. Business sprinter. Fujitsu's LifeBook E-series is aimed at mobile users from the professional field. The review sample is the series' most expensive and best-equipped 13.3-inch model. Besides a high-quality metal casing, it offers high CPU power, an SSD, LTE, a generous supply of interfaces and security features.

Padbook. A small track point is the characteristic feature of Gigabyte's latest Windows convertible (Windows 8). The other components are also interesting: A Core i5 processor in combination with a Full HD IPS display and an attachable keyboard. Can the device convince us in practice?

Mobile Gaming Deluxe. The Schenker XMG C703 is yet another version of the MSI GS70 barebones to come on the market. The notebook's appeal stems partly from the fact that you can select from a variety of configuration options when you purchase the device from the retailer. Equipped with an Intel Core i7-4700HQ processor, a GeForce GTX 765M and a thin, light case, the notebook debuts in the mobile arena.

Low-budget meteor. The Chinese manufacturer wants to score with a quad-core chip, a large HD screen and a low price. The smartphone can also manage two SIM cards at the same time and in terms of equipment it surpasses most of the devices in the same price range. We have tested whether the device is worth the price.

The third time is the charm? The newest addition to Samsung's successful Galaxy Note series comes with a huge 5.7-inch display - fitting, given the current trend toward ever-larger smartphone screen sizes. But is this beast truly a sight to behold or is it actually a step in the wrong direction?

Wasted potential. An affordable multimedia laptop featuring a quad-core APU, 16 GB of RAM and Crossfire graphics - that sounds almost too good to be true. In fact, Lenovo's G505s looks like a virtually unrivaled price-performance bundle on paper, but it also has some serious faults.

A brighter Fire. Now in its third generation, the Kindle Fire series shows no signs of burning out. It is still the go-to tablet for Amazon shoppers, but are the new hardware and software updates enough for Android fans to jump ship? Different by design. The Acer Aspire R7-571G does not follow classic notebook design guidelines. Thanks to the Ezel hinge, the notebook supports display positions that no other design is capable of offering. Big Business. The new HP ProBook 470 promises professional quality at a bargain price, but what is the catch? Despite a Core-i7 chip, a lot of memory and a dedicated Radeon GPU, this 17-inch notebook is available at prices starting at less than 800 Euros (~$1093).

Ultrabook by Toshiba. Toshiba now has a new ultrabook series in its lineup and the manufacturer relies on cutting-edge technology for it: Haswell ULV processor, touchscreen and a swift SSD cache are to lure laptop buyers. Whether it can will be seen in our test report.

Ultra-huge. 6.4-inches, Full HD resolution and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. These are the impressive specs for the combination of a smartphone and a tablet. We are not concerned that the Xperia Ultra Z is not powerful enough to handle all upcoming tasks - but we are not so sure about the ergonomics. Operating the device with just one hand can be a real challenge.
