RedMagic's new gaming tablet gets a launch timeframe; global version confirmed

RedMagic is preparing to launch a new gaming tablet that will arrive as a successor to the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro released last year. Now, a top executive has revealed the launch timeframe for the new tablet, which has been confirmed to be sold as the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro.
According to Jiang Chao, the General Manager of the Chinese brand, the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will be released this April or next month. The info, which was posted on Weibo, adds that the specific launch date can't be revealed by him, so we have to wait for an official announcement. However, Chao says that fans of the brand won't be disappointed when it launches.
Chao has also confirmed the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will get a global release like its predecessor, albeit at a later date. Last year's RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro is sold outside China as the RedMagic Astra (24GB RAM + 1TB version is available on Amazon.de for €848), so this too might get a new name when it launches outside of China. The Astra was launched in August 2025, two months after the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro's release in China.
Going by the difference in release dates, one can presume that if the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro launches in April or May, then the global variant might be announced in June or July. Notwithstanding, the new tablet is reported to be arriving with a handful of new features and upgrades.
Among the reported features are an OLED display with an ultra-high refresh rate, a sophisticated cooling system with PC-grade materials for thermal management, and a new UI. There's no info on the price yet, but considering the increase in the costs of components such as memory and storage, a price increase seems possible.
