A new compact flagship tablet from Xiaomi is set to launch soon

Following the release of the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 5 and the official announcement of RedMagic's Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, Xiaomi is set to present its own compact flagship tablet soon. This device, the Redmi K Pad 2, will succeed last year's Redmi K Pad and directly rival the aforementioned models from Lenovo and RedMagic.
The Redmi K Pad 2 has now been certified in China, signalling a forthcoming release. The tablet bears the model number "26048RP6AC", with the listing confirming support for 67 W wired charging—unchanged from the Redmi K Pad. While details of the tablet are unconfirmed, it seems likely that the Redmi K Pad 2 will mostly be an iterative upgrade, with the most probable changes being the introduction of MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 as well as a larger battery than the 7,500 mAh unit on last year's model.
A specific release date remains elusive but the Redmi K Pad 2 is widely rumored to be set for an April launch in China, where it will share a stage with another high-end Xiaomi device—specifically the Redmi K90 Ultra. It's unclear if Xiaomi has any plans to bring the Redmi K Pad 2 to the global market, but it wouldn't be surprising to see it launch globally as the second-gen Xiaomi Pad Mini later in the year.
