Xiaomi reveals design and specs of the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition

Ahead of the launch of the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition on April 2, Xiaomi India has revealed more details of the smartphone. These new details include a full reveal of what the phone looks like, and some key specs that set it apart from the version launched in December 2025.
The standard Redmi Note 15 5G is available to buy in Black, Glacier Blue, and Mist Purple. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition will be available in Frosted White, Carbon Black, and a Crimson Red with a vegan leather finish and a gold frame. The Carbon Black version is the slimmest of them all at 7.35mm while the Frosted White and Crimson Red are 7.4mm and 7.82mm thick, respectively.
In addition to new colors, the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition also differs in terms of its cameras and battery capacity. Unlike the standard version which has a 108MP primary rear camera, the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition has a 50MP primary rear camera. It also has support for 4K video recording, Dynamic Shot, and support for switching between three focal lengths when taking portrait photos.
The Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition will also have a larger battery capacity. The promotional page says it is a 5,800mAh battery that will provide over 44 hours of use. In contrast, the standard version has a 5,520mAh Silicon-Carbon battery that will last over 38 hours on a single charge. The special edition has support for 45W fast wired charging, just like the standard version.
Lastly, Xiaomi says the special edition will have the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor as the standard version. It should ship with HyperOS 2. There's no info on the phone's price yet.
