Vivo releases new high-end tablet with 144 Hz display and 16 GB RAM

Vivo has returned to the world of high-end Android tablets with the Pad6 Pro. Adopting the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the Pad6 Pro should be significantly more powerful than the Honor MagicPad 4, Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra (curr. $975 on Amazon). Incidentally, Lenovo has just released the Legion Tab Gen 5 with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, too.
While the Legion Tab Gen 5 adopts an 8.8-inch display, the Pad6 Pro sits at the other end of the scale with its huge 13.2-inch panel. IPS-based rather than OLED, the Pad6 Pro outputs at 3,840 x 2,512 pixels with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness. Vivo claims that the display fully covers the DCI-P3 colour space and should have excellent brightness distribution thanks to a new LED backlight.
Vivo also includes a 13,000 mAh battery, which contributes to the Pad6 Pro's 663 g weight. Meanwhile, the company's official keyboard accessory adds 493 g itself. For reference, the tablet supports Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity with a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port for outputting to an external display.
The Pad6 Pro starts at CNY 4,499 (~$650) with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the tablet can be configured with 512 GB of storage and 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM, with pricing reaching CNY 6,699 (~$969) for 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of storage. Vivo has not confirmed international launch details yet.
