First OnePlus gaming handheld appears in sketchy leak

The Android gaming handheld market is seeing steady growth, thanks to the rapid development of emulators such as GameHub, Dolphin, and others. This rise in popularity has also brought many new players into the scene, and it seems OnePlus will be next.
In late March 2026, Digital Chat Station, a credible leaker, shared that OnePlus was working on an Android gaming handheld. The device will reportedly set itself apart by integrating a special control solution that's designed for FPS games. This report also hinted that there would be performance-focused features, including ultra-high refresh rate displays and game-wise optimizations.
A new leak has now given a look at what this OnePlus gaming handheld could look like from the back. While Digital Chat Station and other notable leakers have reshared the picture, it's worth noting that the render looks quite sketchy.
However, if it's actually an early render of the device, the design could indeed make the OnePlus gaming handheld stand out. The render shows a dual camera setup on the back, something recently launched flagship Android handhelds don't have, and it also shows two trigger buttons built right into the device's body. These suggest that it will come with all the features that an Android handheld tends to have while retaining smartphone features.
Of course, the built-in trigger buttons wouldn't really make this alleged gaming handheld stand out, as RedMagic phones already come with capacitive shoulder triggers (flagship 11 Pro available on Amazon). Physical buttons, however, are something that many gamers prefer over the capacitive ones.
That said, this sketchy leak didn't share any specs, but a recent report from Bald Panda, a notable Weibo leaker, suggests that the OnePlus gaming handheld will sport an 8-inch display and be powered by a flagship SoC from MediaTek. Ice Universe, another prolific tipster, adds that it will be the "Dimensity 9500 Windspeed Edition."
