Apple's foldable iPhone still on course for September release, new report says

Reports from Asia yesterday claimed that Apple had hit something of a technical roadblock in the development of its first foldable iPhone. Supposedly, that could have led to a delay in its release, but a new report appears to debunk all of that.
As shared by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, prior reports of Apple facing a development snag with the foldable iPhone have been overstated or, perhaps even, inaccurate. Instead, the source claims figures close to the matter affirm that the foldable is on track to launch in September as expected, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The upcoming foldable iPhone appears set to be one of Apple's most ambitious projects in recent years, with company engineers said to believe the foldable will arrive sans typical concerns to overall durability, screen quality, and the oh-so-pesky crease.
In addition, the Apple foldable is said to adopt a wide-screen form factor for better viewing while unfolded in landscape, as well as a bespoke version of iOS designed to offer an iPadOS-esque app experience. All of that will come at a premium, however—Apple's foldable iPhone is set to start at over $2,000, and could max out at close to $3,000 when fully specced.
