Nord 6: OnePlus reveals price and features of new mid-range smartphone

OnePlus has now launched the Nord 6 after almost three months of leaks and rumours. While pre-orders do not open until April 9, OnePlus has already confirmed all hardware specifications and pricing. For instance, the Nord 6 contains a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that outputs at 165 Hz, 3,600 nits and with a 2,772 x 1,272-pixel resolution.

Unmistakably, OnePlus has designed the Nord 6 to resemble the flagship OnePlus 15 (curr. $899 on Amazon). However, the Nord 6 drops to the older Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset that we have tested inside the Poco F7 and the Nothing Phone (3). Additionally, OnePlus includes the following camera hardware:

• Primary: Sony Lytia 600, 50 MP, f/1.8, 24 mm, 1/1.56-inch sensor
• Ultra-wide: OmniVision OV08F, 8 MP, f/2.2, 15 mm, 1/4.0-inch sensor, 112˚ field of view (FoV) 
• Front-facing: 32 MP, f/2.4

While the Nord 6 looks like it features three rear-facing cameras, its third lens is actually just a colour spectrum sensor. Setting that aside, the Nord 6 also contains a 9,000 mAh battery that supports 80 W wired and 27 W reverse wired charging. In part, this large battery is why the Nord 6 weighs 217 g and is 8.5 mm thick.

The Nord 6 starts at INR 38,999 (~$422) with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the device will be available with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for INR 41,999 (~$454). OnePlus complements these memory options with Fresh Mint, Pitch Black and Quick Silver finishes. OnePlus has not revealed whether the Nord 6 will be available globally like its predecessor.
