OnePlus teases controller accessory for Ace 6 Ultra

OnePlus is gearing up for the launch of a new smartphone in China. The new device has been confirmed to launch as the Ace 6 Ultra, and OnePlus is marketing it as a gaming smartphone. However, new teasers from the manufacturer hint at the phone getting an accessory that transforms it into a handheld.
The teasers, which were posted on its Weibo page, highlight the gaming feature of the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra. However, there's a mention of a “dream gear” that improves the gaming experience. This “dream gear” seems to be a controller that transforms the phone into a handheld gaming console based on the images attached.
One of the images shows an outline of the controller overlaid on the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, and we can make out the triggers and shoulder buttons, as well as two back buttons. It is not clear what other features the controller will have to set it apart from what is already available on the market, but it will be nice if it has some some unique features that give OnePlus phones an edge.
OnePlus launching a game controller for its smartphone isn't unusual as there are brands that already offer such an accessory. In March, Lenovo released the Legion Gamepad G3, and almost a year ago, the Redmi GamePad was released in China. There are also tons of third-party brands with similar offerings such as the Backbone Pro and the 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller (available on Amazon for $49.99).
As a side note, there are reports that OnePlus is working on a gaming handheld. There's a chance that info is incorrect and the rumored handheld is just the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra with a proprietary controller.
