Interesting Casio F-B100W leak reveals Bluetooth and step tracker in classic case

Casio is reportedly preparing a modern refresh of its classic F-100 design. New filings from Asian registration agencies have revealed a new model number, the F-B100W-1A. This isn't exactly coincidental. The company also released the ABL-100 series recently, which added smart features to the vintage metal design. The F-100, originally released in 1978, was the company’s first watch to feature a full plastic case and has been the design basis for the legendary F-91W (curr. $24 on Amazon).
The "B" in the model name means Bluetooth connectivity will be included in the new model. That should make smartphone syncing possible via the Casio Watches app. Like the ABL-100, this model is expected to include a step tracker with a dedicated progress bar visible at the top of the LCD. The case is expected to get compact proportions, likely measuring around 41.6 x 37.9 x 8.2 mm as per Casioblog.
While the overall design will be unmistakably retro, the internal module should likely a derivative of the ABL-100's electronics. A single leaked low-resolution photo (above) shows the classic four-button layout on the case, which is a signature element of the 1978 original.
Unlike higher-end G-Shock models, the F-B100W will reportedly rely on a standard two-year battery rather than Tough Solar power. Base digital features like a stopwatch, daily alarm, calendar, and LED backlight are expected to stay. Estimates place the retail price between $70 and $100. Casio has not officially confirmed the device, but leaks also hint towards a launch window in Summer 2026.
