New Casio watch with adjustable metal strap coming soon

The Casio Vintage A159WE-1 watch has been listed at the brand’s official online store in several European countries. Based on the A159W from 1989, this square-faced digital watch has a classic silver design with colorful accents.
While Casio lists the A159WE-1 as “new”, it appears to have identical specifications and a similar design to the older A159WA-N1 watch. It has a silver tone chrome-plated resin casing, measuring 36.8 x 33.2 x 8.5 mm (~1.45 x 1.31 x 0.33 inches), which is said to be splash-proof. The watch is accompanied by a stainless steel bracelet with an adjustable closure, resizing to suit your wrist.
On the A159WE-1’s digital display, users can view the time in a 12 or 24 hour format, accurate to within 30 seconds monthly. Plus, it has a 1/100th second stopwatch, hourly time signals and a daily alarm. It is also worth noting the LED backlight, allowing you to tell the time in darker environments, the automatic calendar, and the estimated battery life of seven years.
One possible difference could be the color of the display; a marketing image of the A159WE-1 shows a warmer display than that of the older A159WA-N1. Images of the two models also suggest a slightly different bracelet, with wider, rounder central links on the newer A159WE-1. However, Casio has not officially confirmed any differences between these two models.
In countries like the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany, the Casio Vintage A159WE-1 watch will retail for €49.90. It is said to be “coming soon”, though an exact release date has not been announced. French retailer David et Philly suggests that this model will launch in the region in May 2026. Prospective customers can click on the “coming soon” button on the Casio product page to sign up for an email launch notification.
