Xiaomi Redmi K90 Ultra set for downgrade as company clarifies lineup

Xiaomi recently confirmed the imminent launch of the new Redmi K90 Max, its third entry in the series following the releases of the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max late last year. An "Ultra" model is planned too, it seems.
As confirmed by Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing earlier today, the company has a Redmi K90 Ultra planned, but with a twist. While previous "Ultra" models in the series sat at the very top of the pile as the brand's flagships, the Redmi K90 Ultra is set to be less impressive. The phone is projected to arrive in the near future but will sit beneath the Redmi K90 Pro Max and Redmi K90 Max in the lineup's hierarchy.
The forthcoming Redmi K90 Max is, of course, secondary to the Pro Max model. According to Xiaomi, the Redmi K90 Pro Max is designed to be a comprehensive device with flagship-grade camera performance; the K90 Max, on the other hand, is almost entirely focused on gaming performance. The Redmi K90 Ultra is superseded by the two and will only be more premium than the base model Redmi K90.
