Xiaomi Redmi K90 Ultra heads for release as certification emerges

The Xiaomi Redmi K80 Ultra was launched as a high-end smartphone with Dimensity 9400 Plus in June 2025. Now, the Redmi K90 Ultra has cleared a certification from a regulatory body in China.
The 3C certification of Xiaomi's device with model number "2604FRK1EC" is believed to belong to the Redmi K90 Ultra. The certification reveals it will support 100W charging, similar to the Redmi K80 Ultra. Separately, leaks suggest that the K90 Ultra may use an 8,500mAh cell, up from 7,410mAh on its predecessor.
The device is also rumored to feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. For comparison, the Redmi K80 Ultra featured a 144Hz display. Performance could also see a major boost thanks to the rumored Dimensity 9500 Plus chipset and a cooling fan.
Another leak suggested that the Redmi K90 Ultra will feature Bose-tuned speakers, which was one of the key highlights of the Xiaomi Poco F8 Ultra (curr. $848 on Amazon). As the Redmi K80 Ultra was China-exclusive, it remains to be seen whether the K90 Ultra will see a global release. In other news, Xiaomi has started rolling out the stable version of HyperOS 3.1 globally.
