Redmi K90 Max renders reveal gaming phone's design, but the grip could be awkward

Xiaomi has recently announced a new gaming phone, the Redmi K90 Max. Through past teasers, the company confirmed that the device will come with an active cooling fan, which is touted to be more advanced than the active coolers found in competing devices.

Now, Xiaomi has showcased the back design of the gaming phone through new photos. These official renders show the K90 Max in "Space Silver" colorway, and they confirm an aluminum alloy frame with a relatively pronounced camera island on the rear.

This camera island, as previously showcased, houses the active cooling fan on the right, while the left has two cameras. The positioning of the fan is a bit weird, as the user's finger can partially block off the vents if the gaming phone is not held correctly. But of course, as Xiaomi showcased in some of the newly shared pictures, it's possible to get a good grip by maneuvering the fingers a bit.

In the new set of pictures, there's a photo that showcases one side of the gaming phone, and it reveals that the K90 Max will feature a relatively thin form factor. The camera island doesn't seem to be protruding much more than the K90 Pro Max either (12/256 GB curr. $596.58 on TradingShenzhen).

While the front of the phone hasn't been revealed yet, Xiaomi teased that the Redmi K90 Max will sport an ultra-narrow bezel design. As for the specs, they aren't formally announced yet, but the device is expected to be powered by the Dimensity 9500, the current flagship SoC from MediaTek.

It will reportedly be paired with a D2 discrete graphics chip for enhanced gaming performance, and the display will sport a 165 Hz refresh rate. The launch is set for later in April 2026, and the K90 Max will be fully unveiled alongside a new gaming tablet, the Redmi K Pad 2.
