Honor has launched the new X5d and the X5d Plus smartphones with familiar specs. The key features of both smartphones include a 90 Hz LCD display, a 5 MP selfie camera, a 5,260 mAh battery, a MediaTek Helio G81 chipset, and IP54 ingress protection.

At the start of the month, Honor launched the Play 80 Pro midrange smartphone in China. Now the brand has officially unveiled two new budget-range smartphones, namely, the Honor X5d and the Honor X5d Plus. The company’s two new affordable smartphones come with a similar set of specifications.

Speaking more precisely, the X5d and the X5d Plus are powered by a MediaTek Helio G81 chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion. Both devices run MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15 out of the box. As usual, there is no information on software from the brand.

Interestingly, the display and battery capacity of both smartphones are also the same. Both feature a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display that outputs HD+ resolution with a 90 Hz refresh rate. In terms of battery capacity, a 5,260 mAh battery powers the X5d and the X5d Plus and supports 15 W wired charging (Anker 25 W USB-C charger curr. at $11.99 on Amazon). What separates the Plus model is its camera setup. The X5d Plus features a 50 MP single camera, while the vanilla variant gets a lower resolution 13 MP shooter with an f/2.2 aperture.

Both devices have a 5 MP selfie camera, IP54 ingress protection, an auxiliary QVGA 0.08 MP module, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. As for price, the X5d starts at MYR 369 ($93) for the 4 GB + 64 GB model, while the X5d Plus costs MYR 459 ($115) for the base 4 GB + 128 GB variant. Buyers can choose from tidal blue and midnight black colorways.
