Modular gaming handheld splits to become magnetic smartphone upgrade

At first glance, the GameMT E5 ModX looks like a standard gaming handheld in the format of a very wide Nintendo Game Boy. The special feature is that the handheld has a modular design so that the display can be separated from the controller module.
It is then possible to connect the gamepad magnetically to smartphones such as the Apple iPhone 17 ($777 on Amazon) in order to play smartphone games or access game streaming services. The display module contains the hardware of a relatively inexpensive gaming handheld based on a MediaTek Helio P60. The chip from 2018 only offers sufficient performance to smoothly display older retro games that were originally developed for systems such as the Nintendo Game Boy Advance.
With two analog sticks and four shoulder buttons, the controller at least offers all the buttons required to control more modern games that are likely to be available via game streaming services. The handheld will always be equipped with 3 GB of RAM, but buyers will reportedly have the choice between versions with 32 GB or 64 GB of flash memory. The display achieves a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels, but details on the screen size or brightness are not yet known. The designation E5 indicates that a display with a diagonal of around 5 inches will be used.
Prices and availability
GameMT has not yet confirmed when or at what price the E5 ModX will be launched on the market.
