A new leak has confirmed fresh information about Anbernic's next gaming handheld. With the Anbernic RG Rotate name now locked in, the leak has also confirmed battery and charging information ahead of schedule.

Anbernic has not publicly commented on the release of its next-generation gaming handheld yet. Nonetheless, new information about the unusual handheld has emerged online. Thus, we suspect an official announcement will be made soon.

To recap, a photo showing an unreleased Anbernic handheld emerged in mid-March. While unnamed, we likened the device to the classic Motorola Flipout. Then earlier this week, multiple videos surfaced on Bilibili thanks to Handheld Penguin.

From these, we could just about make out the name 'RG Rotate'. The level of pixelation prevented us from being certain in this regard, though. A subsequent post on the Open Source Handheld Game Forum has provided a clear image in which the name RG Rotate can be seen.

Embedded below, the image also confirms that the RG Rotate will feature a 3.8V battery with a 2,000 mAh typical capacity. Surprisingly, this is smaller than the batteries in the RG34XX SP or RG35XX SP (curr. $69 on Amazon). However, the RG Rotate will support 10 W charging at 5V/2A. Thus, the RG Rotate should not suffer from the same charging issues with Anbernic's cheaper handhelds that max out at 5V/1.5A.
