Evercade's new Nexus handheld has an RGB logo, TATE mode, and a special edition

Evercade has announced a new handheld called the Nexus. The new horizontal handheld is its biggest yet, and like other Evercade and Super Pocket handhelds, it is compatible with Evercade cartridges.
The Evercade Nexus has a 5.89-inch IPS display with a 840 × 512 resolution and over 500 nits of brightness. Powering it is a 1.5GHz quad-core processor that draws juice from a 5,000mAh battery. The handheld has symmetric analog thumbsticks, a floating disc D-Pad, and stacked triggers and bumper buttons.
Below the screen are four pill-shaped buttons that include Select, Start, and a button for switching to TATE mode (vertical orientation) for classic vertical shooter games. There's an RGB NEXUS logo in between the pill-shaped buttons, and Evercade says users will be able to customize it.
The handheld also has stereo front-facing speakers, a USB-C port, an audio jack, and Wi-Fi 6. Evercade has also added a new feature exclusive to the Nexus called EverSync. It allows users to connect two Nexus handhelds together for local multiplayer. There's no need for an internet connection, and all you have to do is insert your game cartridge, and host your game for another Nexus handheld to join for multiplayer gaming.
The Evercade Nexus will be available in black, but there will be a limited edition with a silver D-Pad, thumbsticks, and shoulder buttons; red pill-shaped buttons, and ABXY buttons that are blue, green, and yellow. This variant is called the Evercade Nexus 64 Edition, and only 2,000 units will be produced.
Evercade says it will come with bonus items not available for sale such as a PVA hard case, a glass screen protector, an exclusive poster, and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Pre-orders for the Evercade Nexus begins on April 1, although it won't be released until October 2026, a month after the release of the Evercade Wireless Controller. The standard version of the Evercade Nexus costs £169.99 in the UK, $199.99 in the US, and €199.99 in the rest of Europe.
The Evercade Nexus 64 Edition costs a bit more at £189.99/$229.99/€229.99, and will be exclusive to Funstock UK and Funstock USA. Both versions will come with a Banjo-Kazooie Double Pack cartridge that includes Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie games.
